Air Corsica: the privileged partner for transporting His Holiness

After extensive coordination with French authorities—including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Quai d’Orsay), the Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC), the Prefecture of Corsica, the Air Transport Gendarmerie (GTA), the Border Police (PAF), and the Corsica Chamber of Commerce (CCI)—as well as the Diocese of Ajaccio, Vatican services, the Apostolic Nunciature, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Air Corsica has received official authorization to operate Pope Francis’ return flight from Ajaccio to Rome.

Following protocol, Pope Francis will arrive in Corsica on a flight operated by the Italian national airline ITA Airways and will depart with the local airline, Air Corsica, proudly representing the host region.

Air Corsica will have the immense privilege of operating His Holiness’ return flight on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 6:15 PM. This special flight will be operated by one of our Airbus A320neo aircraft, accommodating 120 passengers in optimal comfort and safety conditions.
