As for the Sistine Chapel, founded by Pope Sixtus IV, it features an impressive ceiling painted by Michelangelo in the 16th century, depicting the story of Creation and the Flood. On its walls are frescoes portraying the life of Jesus, painted by Ghirlandaio, Botticelli, Perugino, and Pinturicchio. The chapel also contains Michelangelo’s famous painting The Last Judgment.
