The Stock Exchange Palace is one of Porto’s most beautiful buildings and a key landmark of the city. Classified as a National Monument, this neoclassical edifice, inaugurated in 1891, was built on the ruins of a Franciscan convent.
Inside, the central courtyard, known as the Courtyard of Nations, is covered by an impressive glass structure that floods the palace with natural light.
By ascending to the second floor via the sumptuous granite and marble staircases, you’ll reach the Golden Room, entirely adorned with gold leaf, followed by the General Assembly Hall with its elegant wood paneling, and finally the stunning Moorish Room—a majestic space of over 300 square meters, inspired by the Alhambra—where official receptions of the Porto Commercial Association, now housed in the palace, are held.
