The Mount Faron

From April to June and from September to October, Air Corsica offers direct flights between Ajaccio, Bastia and Toulon. Performed by an ATR72 with 70-seat onboard, they can reach the city in just one hour of flight at the pace of two round trips per week.

Anyone who goes to Toulon must visit the Mount Faron and taking a cable car! This cable car will allow you to reach the highest point of the Toulon region, at 584 meters above the sea level, in just six minutes- it’s unique on the Mediterranean shore and  its red colour.

Once you reach the top of Toulon's most famous mountain, various activities will be proposed in a life-size playground. First the pleasure trough your eyes with magnificent panoramas of the harbour of Toulon and the hinterland of Vars, then many strolls and hikes on marked trails and finally a Fauverie - easily accessible on foot or by car. This breeding centre -unique in France and probably in Europe - ensures the survival of endangered species.

There is also a Memorial dedicated to the Landings in Provence and many playgrounds and picnic areas. If you wish, you can book your guided nature outing, guided and commented by a guide for adults and children.

Finally, throughout the year, different events are organised at the top of Mount Faron such as the Mediterranean Cyclist Tour, the nature village "Vivement dimanche au Faron" in June, the "Nocturnes" of the cable car for concerts or fireworks (from the harbour)concerts at the Toulon Music Festival and nightly guided outings "Sous la lune et les étoiles" offered by the Tourist Board.
