Travelling as a family

Air Corsica provides specific assistance and supervision services to make travelling as a family, for children and pregnant women easier.

Organise your journey with complete peace of mind.

Travelling with a baby

Your baby (under 2 years old) travels free of charge on your lap in mainland France and benefits from a discount on international flights.

For his or her comfort and yours, you can also choose to reserve a seat for him or her. Your baby will then benefit from the child fare.

To take advantage of our services and make your flight more pleasant, remember to let us know at the time of booking that you are traveling with an infant.

If your child celebrates his or her second birthday during the trip, he or she will benefit from the child discount on all routes. The baby discount does not apply in this case.

Accompanying a baby

  • During the trip, an infant must always be accompanied by an independent adult passenger who is related to the infant*.
  • An adult passenger may travel with 2 infants (under 2 years old), on the sole condition that an individual seat is reserved for one of them at the child fare and that it is installed on his or her seat with an approved restraint system: car seat or harness. For an adult travelling with two infants, reservations can only be made by telephone on 0 825 35 35 35 and, from abroad, on 00 33 4 95 20 95 20 (non surcharged number), 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm (€0.20 incl. tax/min).

Exception : the accompanying person may be under 18 years of age if they are the father, mother or legal guardian.

Priority boarding

Families travelling with an infant benefit from priority boarding.

Practical advice :

  • Before departure, remember to check that your child has all the documents required by the police, customs and immigration services of the destination country.
  • It is not recommended to travel with a baby within 7 days of birth.
  • When taking off and landing, give your baby a pacifier, bottle, pacifier or cookie to prevent your baby from feeling any discomfort in their eardrums.
  • When traveling with a baby, passengers may carry liquid baby food (milk or juice, etc.) with them.

A specific baggage allowance

If you travel with your baby who does not have his own seat and travels on your lap, you can carry free of charge for him a cabin luggage of 10kg maximum whose dimensions do not exceed 55cm x 35cm x 25cm and a small cane stroller whose dimensions do not exceed 15cm x 30cm x 100cm. With the exception of the "Light" range, the baby can also carry free of charge in the hold a 10kg piece of luggage included in the ticket price as well as a car seat, stroller or folding pram of any kind. In the "Light" range, the baby can carry a "cane buggy" or a fully foldable pram free of charge.

If you have reserved a seat for your infant (child fare), you will benefit from the standard baggage allowance and you are entitled to take the car seat with a maximum width of 42 cm that can fit between the armrests of the aircraft seat and visibly bears the European Union approval mark.

Strollers

Fully foldable cane pushchairs (whatever the brand) with dimensions not exceeding 15cm x 30cm x 100cm and weight 8kg on ATR and 12kg on Airbus are allowed in the cabin for babies and children free of charge; other pushchairs must be registered in the hold in suitable packaging. They are included in the free baggage allowance for babies only (under 2 years old). For children over 2 years of age, if the pushchair or pram is carried in addition to the possible free baggage allowance then this item is considered as excess baggage.

On ATR, the pushchair can be labelled at check-in (green label) and used up to the aircraft door and then placed in the hold by the staff.

Pregnant women

Air Corsica accepts pregnant women on board without medical clearance, but we recommend you seek your doctor's opinion before travelling and obtain medical certification specifying that you are in a fit state to fly.

Travelling during the seven days following childbirth is also not recommended.

Advice for pregnant women

  • Choose loose and comfortable clothing.
  • Wear compression stockings to facilitate blood circulation.
  • Walk around from time to time. Reserve an aisle seat so that you may leave your seat with ease.
  • Drink often, but avoid carbonated beverages.
  • Avoid overly generous portions at mealtimes.
  • Attach your seat belt below the abdomen, low on the pelvis.
  • Avoid travel in the last month of your pregnancy and during the seven days following childbirth.
