Passengers with reduced mobility (PRM)

Reservation of your airline ticket, accompaniment at the airport, taking care of your luggage, specific equipment needed on board… Air Corsica offers a complete service adapted to the needs of people who are disabled, with reduced mobility or who need particular assistance. With Air Corsica, whatever your needs, your flight will always be safe and relaxed.

Passengers with reduced mobility : you can count on the assistance of our MEDA service !

Air Corsica always provides assistance to passengers with reduced mobility on all our flights.

To this end, Air Corsica has its own medical assistance department: the MEDA service. To provide a personalised response to the specific requirements of passengers with reduced mobility, Air Corsica and its MEDA service have put together tools aimed at facilitating the travel for people who are disabled, with reduced mobility or who need particular assistance.

In accordance with the definition of the Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council of 05 July 2006, the MEDA service thus addresses people “whose mobility is reduced during the use of transport, because of any physical handicap (permanent or temporary, sensory or motor) or any handicap or intellectual deficiency, or any other cause of handicap, or age, and whose situation requires special attention and the adaptation to their particular needs of the service available to all passengers.”

To request assistance, contact our MEDA service on 09 69 36 22 20, key 3, Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:30 (charged as a local call)* or your travel agent.

* Cost of a local call from a landline.

Airport transfer wheelchairs

These wheelchairs are used by the airport assistance staff to move you from a designated place in the terminal to the aeroplane, then from the aeroplane to your departure from the airport. These wheelchairs are also used during your connections if you cannot access your personal wheelchair.

This type of wheelchair will also be used inside the aeroplane, to convey you from the door to your seat or vice versa.

 Wheelchairs on board

For your comfort, Air Corsica has equipped their Airbus A320s with an “ on-board wheelchair ”, specially adapted for moving in the aisles of the aeroplane and access to the toilets during the flight.

If you cannot go to the toilet alone, our staff will assist you by transferring you from your seat to this wheelchair (and vice-versa) and will take you to or bring you back from the toilets. However, no assistance in the toilets can be provided by our cabin crew.

Please note: the maximum permitted weight of an on-board wheelchair is limited to 100 kg, with the width between armrests being 35 cm.

Formalities

  • Please inform us of your need for assistance at  least 48 hours before departure.
  • Transport in the hold of a personal wheelchair is free of charge, please notify us when booking.
  • Some Air Corsica flights may be operated by our partner companies. In this case, the regulations of the partner company apply. It is possible therefore that we may not be in a position to confirm the assistance request.

  • For your safety, please confirm if you need to travel with a companion and if you need prior medical approval.

Aria Serena lounge

In order to improve the welcome and comfort of passengers with reduced mobility or who are travelling for medical reasons, Air Corsica has opened a lounge at Marseille-Provence airport, the Aria Serena lounge, located in Terminal 2 Hall 3.
